Foreign citizens can enter Uzbekistan by issuing the following categories of entry visas:

Visa by invitation

Individuals can process entrance visa to Uzbekistan upon receiving of an invitation of:

1. legal entities or organizations, accredited in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan

Invitation for foreign citizens for issuance of entry visa are sent by legal entities only after submitting an application to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan (MFA) on provision of a Visa support.

List of necessary documents for submission alongside with an application:

  •  Visa support application form on the letter head of the organization of a standard form; 
  • filled online visa application from the site evisa.mfa.uz;
  • Copies of passports of the invited person, head of the organization and authorized person of the organization, who submits the documents; 
  • Copies of documents of the organization (license, certificate etc); 
  • Copies of Orders of the head of the organization and an authorized person; 
  • Copy of Power of Attorney for the authorized person; 
  • Certificate of employment of the invited person.

In case of processing of the visa upon arrival  in the international airport of Uzbekistan it is necessary to provide copies of air tickets or reservation as well.

MFA having considered the application  sends the corresponding instructions to the consular missions abroad.

2. citizens of Uzbekistan and foreign citizens, residing in Uzbekistan temporarily (more than 3 months) or permanently

Invitations to the foreign citizens for issuance of  an entry visa are sent by individuals only after submission of an application to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan (MFA) on having Visa support

For this the citizens of Uzbekistan and foreign citizens, residing in Uzbekistan temporarily (more than 3 months) or permanently should:

a) address to internal affairs bodies of Uzbekistan (IAB) at the place of residence with filled application of an established form  in two copies for receipt of notification about invitation.

b) upon receipt of a notification from IAB it is necessary to address to MFA of Uzbekistan with the following documents:

  • standart Visa request form
  • Electronic-application form from the site evisa.mfa.uz (http://evisa.mfa.uz/evisa_en/) ; 
  • сopies of passports of invited and inviting persons; 
  • original of the notification about invitation issued by IAB
  • copies of documents, confirming family ties (if there are); 
  • additional application, if there are no family ties

In case of  processing of visa upon arrival in the international airport of Uzbekistan it is necessary to present the copies of air tickets or booking.

Period of consideration of application of individuals in MFA is 10 working days in case of submitting documents in established order.

3. tourist organizations, performing its activity in the territory of Uzbekistan.

 

After receiving an invitation it is necessary to address:
  • diplomatic representations and consular institutions of Uzbekistan abroad, and in case of absence of such:
  • Visa Sections of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan in the airports of Uzbekistan, which have the status of international, upon arrival to the country

With the following list of documents:

  • 1)  passport or document of the stateless person, period of validity of which should exceed the period of validity of the visa for not less than 3 months; 
  • 2) filled visa application form (http://evisa.mfa.uz/evisa_en/) in 2 copies; 
  • 3) invitation;
  • 4) 2 colored photos 3,5 to 4,5 cm.

In case of necessity:

Period of consideration of visa documents and processing of entry visa by invitation of:
  • legal entities should not exceed 10 days
  • individuals should not exceed 15 days
  • tourist organizations should not exceed 3 days, excluding holidays and days off

 

Transit visa

Short-term visa-free entry to Uzbekistan for foreign citizens for a period of not more than 5 days for citizens of a number of states that transit through the international airports of Uzbekistan, if they have a ticket to a third country.

This procedure applies to transit passengers wishing to explore the sights of Uzbekistan.

Foreign citizens, traveling by transit through the territory of Uzbekistan can process transit visa to Uzbekistan in consular missions of Uzbekistan abroad.

A list of countries in respect of whose citizens a visa-free transit entry, temporary stay and exit procedure to and from Uzbekistan is introduced can be found here.

List of required documents:

1) passport or document of stateless person, expiry date of which must exceed the visa’s period of validity for not less than 3 months; 

2) 2 copies of duly completed visa application form

3) visa of the state of destination (where person is actually traveling to);

4) travel documents with the confirmed date of departure from Uzbekistan into the state of destination;

5) 2 colored photos 3,5х4,5 cm.

In case if foreign citizens are drivers, who are traveling by transit through the territory of Uzbekistan (within no more than 72 hours) on individual, passenger or cargo transport, then except the abovementioned documents they also submit:

1) driver’s license of international standard;

2) documents, confirming the ownership and technical condition of the transport;

3) shipping documents, confirming the delivery of the cargo into the country of destination;

4) other documents, as provided for in the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Period of processing of a transit visa
  •  within 3 days

 

Visa upon arrival

Foreign citizens and stateless persons, intending to arrive to Uzbekistan from the country, where there is no diplomatic representation or consular mission of Uzbekistan, can get visas upon arrival at the Visa Section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Uzbekistan at the international airports of Uzbekistan.

To do this the inviting legal entity or individual at the territory of Uzbekistan, should get visa support (confirmation of MFA) and send it to the invited party.

This confirmation should be shown by invited person while buying an air-ticket, passing through border (passport) control in the country of residence and visa shall be issued on its basis upon arrival.

E-visa

  • For processing of electronic visa a foreign citizen sends an application to the official portal of electronic visa of Uzbekistan at the following link www.e-visa.gov.uz.

Period of consideration: 2 working days excluding the day of submission of the application.

Amount of the consular fee:
  • 20 USD; 
  • double, with a consular fee of $ 35;
  • multiple, with a consular fee of $ 50.

Period of validity:
  • up to 30 days of stay from the entry day into Uzbekistan;
  •  valid for 90 days from the date of issue.

* If the period of validity of the visa to the moment of entry to the territory of the republic is less than 30 days, then the period of stay at the territory of Uzbekistan should not exceed the period of validity of the electronic visa.

 

The issued electronic visa is sent to the e-mail address specified when submitting the application.
